WORD PROCESSOR
Once the system is well understood, the next learning activity discusses about the word processor.
This learning activity is the most interesting one, as it took me forever to fully comprehend the details...
I learned that once you know about word processor, your work will be very easy to carry out...
Still... I need more time to practice using it.. although the theory seems easy, the practice will be a way too complicated.. I missed few details.. maybe.. I neglect it...
Glad that the tutor patiently guided us, and willing whole-heartedly wait for those who needs extra time.. like me... ;-(
The task is practicing what we have learned... it is so challenging...
we are asked to type a letter with a specific format and table of content using Ms Words...

Program Orientation
Here we go...
During the program orientation, the activity on the LMS
is introduction to the course.
It discusses the learning outcome, the timeline of the
course and Rules and Regulation...
In addition, the tutors, there are two tutors, and the
admin introduce themselves to the participants...
All participants are required to introduce themselves as
well.
It ended with a review test... It is kind of pre- test,
to find out how well you know the course...
My score is quite poor.. I got only 50... But I think the
tutors are happy, as they would have perfect target... Me! J
The Basic Concept
of Computer
The product of this learning activity is a resume
concerning the Trend of Computer Technology in the Future.

Tren Perkembangan Teknologi
Komputer
Sembilan tahun
yang lalu Kaviani (2009) telah memprediksi tren perkembang teknologi komputer
pada sebuah buku berjudul Computer
Science and Engineering. Menurut Kaviani, komputer telah berkembang pesat
selama dua dekade terakhir. Tren ini diperkirakan akan terus berlanjut selama
beberapa tahun, Personal Computers (PC) perlahan-lahan akan kehilangan posisi
sebagai faktor utama di belakang teknologi komputer, ada perangkat baru yang
akan bergabung atau bahkan menggantikan PC. Perangkat yang muncul ini, termasuk
internet appliances dan smart vehicles, akan mendorong industri
komputer yang lebih cepat, lebih padat dan lebih murah.
Tulisan ini
relevan dengan keadaan yang terjadi sekarang, bahkan lebih cepat dari yang
diperkirakan. Pada sebuah artikel yang ditulis Mitchell (2018), teknologi jaringan komputer terus berkembang dengan cara
yang baru dan menarik. Perkembangan utama yang telah terjadi sbeberapa tahun
terakhir meliputi: (1) semakin populernya komputasi awan dan penyimpanan cloud,
terlihat pada saat konsumen memilih
membeli lisensi digital dan mengunduh atau streaming
konten mereka melalui internet, (2) perbaikan infrastruktur jaringan
seluler - baik penyebaran 4G dan bahkan menuju hype
5G, untuk penggunaan smartphone
sebagai televisi seluler atau sistem penyiaran video dan (3) adanya hotspot
Wi-Fi publik atau smartphone untuk kebutuhan
terhubung setiap saat, baik melalui jaringan rumah maupun di tempat kerja.
Mitchell menulis
ada 3 tren yang menarik untuk diantisipasi. Pertama,
banyak perangkat baru yang ditargetkan di pasar IoT, seperti wearables of all kinds, contohnya Apple
watches, smart kitchen dan smartlight bulb (sistem pencahayaan yang
bisa wifi dan bluetooth). Kedua, IPv6
akan menggantikan sistem pengalamatan protokol Internet tradisional yang kita
kenal (IPv4), yang membuat pengelolaan akun pelanggan menjadi lebih mudah dan
meningkatkan efisiensi serta keamanan lalu lintas internet. Ketiga, AI (kecerdasan buatan)yang
membuat komputer dan mesin memiliki kecerdasan seperti masusia, perkembangannya meningkat secara signifikan. Dengan
kecepatan koneksi nirkabel yang jauh lebih cepat yang tersedia saat ini, Ai
dapat mengerjakan lebih banyak tugas
manusia. AI memungkinkan komputer untuk melihat (perangkat lunak
pengenalan wajah), membaca (menganalisis pesan media sosial), mendengarkan
(misalnya Alexa berdiri untuk menjawab setiap perintah Anda), berbicara
(misalnya Alexa bisa menjawab Anda) dan mengukur emosi kita (misalnya komputasi
afektif).
Marr (2018)
dalam artikelnya yang berjudul 9
Technology Mega Trends that will Change the World in 2018, menambahkan tren
perkembangan teknologi komputer. Diantaranya (1) meningkatnya datafikasi dalam
kehidupan kita, banyak jejak data dari kegiatan chatting, pemesanan melalui
aplikasi dansebagainya yang menyebabkan ledakan data. (2) Pertumbuhan eksponensial
dalam daya komputasi yang memicu kemajuan teknologi besar-besaran, menyebabkan
tersedianya miliyaran perangkat IoT, juga dengan adanya komputasi quantum yang
menyebabkan keja komputer jutaan kali lebih cepat. (3) Otomatisasi mesin, baik
dibidang industri dan transportasi yang mengambil alih pekerjaan manusia, juga
menyebabkan inovasi printing, dari 2D
menjadi 3D. (4) Teknologi Blockchain
sebagai solusi praktis untuk masalah penyimpanan, otentikasi dan
perlindungan data. Layanan keuangan, asuransi, dan perawatan kesehatan adalah
sektor yang mengadopsi blockchain ini secara besar besaran.
Kesimpulannya, tren perkembangan teknologi komputer telah
mengubah cara kita berinteraksi dengan teknologi. Layar tablet dan smartphone
membuat kita tetap bekerja walaupun saat bepergian. Kita bisa berkomunikasi
dengan perangkat melalui Siri, Alexa dan Google Assisstant. Virtual reality adalah
lompatan selanjutnya untuk inovasi antarmuka.
